JOURNEYMAN CEU CLASSES

THE JOURNEYMAN CLASS SCHEDULE IS LISTED UNDER "JOURNEYMAN COURSES" ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PAGE. WE ALSO HAVE A COURSE CATALOG THAT WILL GIVE A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EACH CLASS.

ALL CLASS FEES HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR LOCAL 551 MEMBERS FOR THE 2015 CALENDAR YEAR. THE $100.00 DEPOSIT IS STILL REQUIRED TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT AND WILL BE RETURNED DURING THE LAST SCHEDULED CLASS.

JOURNEYMAN CLASS

LIGHTING CONTROL ACCEPTANCE TESTER 

Prerequisite : must have taken, and passed, the 50 hour Advanced Lighting Control class.

 The California Energy Commision has approved the new Title 24 updates, effective July 1, 2014. The new regulations include higher efficiency lighting standards for new commercial buildings and remodels that involve more than 10% of the total square footage.

Certified Acceptance Testers will verify that equipment installation requirements are met and the systems operate properly -  similar to a fire alarm system sign off.

 We will schedule class(es) when if we have enough interest :

The next class is scheduled for 2 Saturdays : 9/6 and 9/20/2014, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

The cost of the class is $25.00 per student.

Minimum class size : 4, Maximum class size : 8

16 CEU's toward State Certification (32 CEU's are required to renew).

Classes will be held here at the Training Center 1726 Corby Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA  95407. 

CALCTP-Advanced Lighting Control

CALCTP is a new program operated by representatives of the CA Lighting Technology Center, CA Energy Commission, CA Community College system, public utilities, electrical contractors, electrical workers, and manufacturers of advanced, high efficiency lighting and control systems.

 CALCTP will educate, train, and certify electrical contractors and electricians in the best practices and most effective techniques to install, tune, commission, and maintain advanced lighting control systems.

 In support of CALCTP, several LCA (Lighting Controls Association) Education Express online courses are now required as prerequisites before receiving live training by CALCTP. These include EE 101: Introduction to Lighting Control, EE 102: Switching Control, EE 103: Fluorescent Dimming and EE 201: Daylight Harvesting. Students may take these courses at any time, at their own pace, from anywhere, and for free; only a short registration is required.

 The live training is a 50 hour hands on lab/lecture being offered, here at the REJATC Training Center. If you are interested in getting certified in this special skill visit "Education Express" web site and sign up for the on line course(s). After completion of the prerequisites you decide to continue with the live training, follow the directions below to get registered.

  We have 1 class scheduled : 1/12 - 1/16/2015, 7:00 - 3:30 pm each day. There will be $100.00 (checks only) refundable deposit, returned after the completion of the 40 hours, and a $35.00 (checks only) materials fee. The class will be available to the first members that have current General Electrician State Certification, complete the online courses, and bring their registration checks to the Training Center (class size is 4 members minimum/ 8 members maximum).

  The California Energy Commision has approved the the new Title 24 requirements effective 7/1/2014. This class is the first step in becoming certified to comply with these new regulations.

  These hours count toward your State Continuing Education requirements.

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED BEFORE FRIDAY 1/2/2015. WE HAVE TO SUBMIT ROSTERS AND ORDER TESTS FROM THE COMPANY ADMINISTERING THE PROGRAM BEFORE THE CLASS STARTS. WE WILL CONFIRM THE CLASS SCHEDULE WHEN WE SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR THE TESTS.

THIS WILL BE PROBABLY BE THE LAST TIME THIS CLASS WE WILL BE SCHEDULED, UNLESS WE RECEIVE SPECIFIC INQUIRIES TO PUT THIS CLASS ON AGAIN.

We are actively looking for individuals qualified to teach Journeyman Electrician courses in order to fulfill the State of California’s Continuing Education recertification requirements.
